Computational Geometry-based Overlapping Chromosome Images Management

چکیده
Classification of chromosomes have impct in the recent research. The chromosomes are non-rigid material and they are several times touching each other or they overlap each other in the metaphase images. Now many techniques are required to understand the overlapping chromosomes. This paper presents a novel method for segmenting chromosomes based upon computational geometry. In the proposed approach first the contour line is traced for the overlapping chromosomes and then all the cut points are traced for the overlapping chromosomes. Then based on computational geometry method a specific number of cut points are selected and they are used for separating the two chromosomes. We have found that 87.4% of the images were correctly segmented using the proposed method.

An Efficient Segmentation Method for Overlapping Chromosome Images
Systems are being developed to automate the task of classification of chromosomes. The chromosomes are non-rigid material and they are several times touching each other or they overlap each other in the metaphase images. So different techniques are required to segregate the overlapping chromosomes. This paper presents a novel method for segmenting chromosomes based upon computational geometry. ...
متن کاملAutomated Karyotyping of Metaphase Cells with Touching Chromosomes
Since the birth of the automated karyotyping systems by the aid of computers, building a fully automated chromosome analysis system has been an ultimate goal. Along with many other challenges, automating chromosome classification and segmentation has been a major challenge especially due to overlapping and touching chromosomes. The earlier reported methods have limited success as they are sensi...
متن کاملImage Stitching of the Computed Radiology images Using a Pixel-Based Approach
In this paper, a method for automatic stitching of radiology images based on pixel features has been presented. In this method, according to the smooth texture of radiological images and in order to increase the number of the extracted features after quality enhancement of initial radiology images, 45 degree isotropic mask is applied to each radiology image to observe the image details. After t...
متن کاملParleda: a Library for Parallel Processing in Computational Geometry Applications
ParLeda is a software library that provides the basic primitives needed for parallel implementation of computational geometry applications. It can also be used in implementing a parallel application that uses geometric data structures. The parallel model that we use is based on a new heterogeneous parallel model named HBSP, which is based on BSP and is introduced here. ParLeda uses two main lib...
متن کاملAutomatic DEM generation by multi-image feature based matching
One of the major difficulties in the automatic generation of digital elevation models (DEMs) is the procurement of approximate values. This presentation shows a new development based on the extraction of discrete points by an interestoperator and epipolar line intersection techniques in multiple overlapping images. The method can be considered an extension of well-known automatic DEM generation...
